Women Grow Uganda · Est. 2012

We back rural women and the villages that depend on them.

A Ugandan non-government organisation working with rural women and vulnerable people in Sironko, Pakwach and Bulambuli: leadership, savings, climate-smart farms, health and learning, and a fair hearing for young single mothers.

Flagship cause · Agricultural enterprises

Rice that stays valuable all the way to Karamoja.

Rice is our main income activity, alongside village savings, soyabean, simsim and groundnut demonstrations, and now coffee. We are mobilising 100+ women’s groups toward large-scale cultivation, collective marketing and a local processing plant cutting out middlemen and supplying food-scarce Karamoja directly.

  • Collective paddy bulking and milling for fair prices
  • Farm schools for soyabean, simsim, groundnuts and coffee
  • Market days linking groups to credit, inputs and buyers

Urgent · Bulambuli landslides

Homes and gardens are buried. Your gift clears ground for both.

Emergency food, shelter materials, sanitary pads and seed then replanting household gardens once the ground is safe. Every contribution is receipted and reported back.

Give to relief

Roots · 2003 → 2012 → today

Born of an exchange, built by villages.

Our founders’ 2003 exchange through FK/NOREC came first; Women Grow Uganda was founded in 2012. Today our partnership with the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) connects village savings groups to a worldwide rural women’s movement.
